Final Disposition of a Loved One
You probably associate death with “making funeral arrangements”. Funeral arrangements typically include two main components: 1) a memorial service and 2) disposition. Final disposition is the act of handling the human remains. Specifically, the method must ensure that any potential health threat is precluded. The two methods of disposition currently available in the United States are burial and cremation. Full body burial can occur in the ground or in a vault. Cremated remains may be buried in the ground, inurned in a columbarium, scattered or preserved.
