Cremains are the ashes of a body (not necessarily human).

Cremains for a human adult average 7-9 lbs. and average 200 lbs. in volume.

A crematorium (or crematory) exists to cremate human ashes. The body is placed in a retort. When the body is cremated, the ashes are placed in a sealed bag that is placed in a basic container. A variety of urns is also commercially available.
