Architarium Awarded Aggie Field of Honor Project – Architarium will be working with
Texas A&M as it develops 20 acres as the Aggie Field of Honor within the new College Station
Memorial Cemetery. Architarium will be developing the columbarium within the cemetery.
College Station, TX (June 12, 2008) – The city of College Station, Texas has broken ground on
a new municipal cemetery that will feature 20 acres dedicated to Texas A&M as the Aggie Field
of Honor. This dedicated cemetery will be designed to meet the needs of former students,
faculty, staff, family and friends of the university.
The Aggie Field of Honor will feature a columbarium designed by Architarium of Austin, Texas.
Highlighting the proud Texas A&M colors, the columbarium will be created in red and white
granite. The project will feature an engineered, curved columbarium that is designed to meet the
needs of the cemetery. This particular project features a variety of burial options including
niches, standard burial, cremain spaces, and infant niches.
“Contributing to the Aggie Field of Honor by manufacturing the columbarium for Texas A&M is
a thrill for us. We have long understood the need for universities to serve their alumnae and this
project will allow TX A&M to offer a final resting place with very personal significance,” states
Paul Pinigis. “School affinity and lasting memories are an interesting part of this project as well
as the opportunity to create a custom memorial environment and a new memorial tradition.”
The Aggie Field of Honor will open Phase 1, approximately 5 acres, in September 2008.
Architarium will work directly with the College Station cemetery to engineer the custom burial
options that are required for the Field of Honor project.
