Engraved bricks are a natural part of any memorial garden. They can serve multiple functions:
Allowing commemoration of those interred elsewhere or in a scattering garden
Serving as a fund-raising device
Creating attractive pathways
Adding warmth and personality
Making brick purchasers feel like a part of the memorial garden
Brick Description
Architarium has specially selected what is known as a “finished clay” brick. It is more polished than the “standard clay” brick used in typical construction. The faces are smooth and engrave well. There are no aggregates (i.e. pebbles) to interfere with engraving.
Brick Sizes
Available sizes are:
4 x 8 x 2.25 in.
8 x 8 x 2.25 in.
Brick Colors
Architarium inventories the most popular brick colors for availability.
Architarium can give you guidance on setting bricks. For example, we recommend setting bricks in sand as opposed to mortar. This is due to maintenance and replacement concerns.
Brick Engraving
Engraving can be done by Architarium or your local engraver.
Architarium can give you recommendations on how to format a brick for best results.
Architarium recommends a deep engraving and paint-fill for legibility.
Architarium can also give you recommendations on how to manage brick engraving and rotation.
